AHIA is a proud founding sponsor of Homes Renewed, the non-profit that is responsible for bill H.R. 1780 that was introduced into Congress in early April.
Louis Tenenbaum is the founder and president of Homes Renewed, and you can learn about him at www.louistenenbaum.com/.
Homes Renewed is a coalition of business, consumer, and non-profit stakeholders driving policy and private investment to increase the number of homes prepared for residents throughout modern lifespans.
Over 20 stakeholders met in Washington, D.C., on June 6 to better understand the mission and learn how to support the cause. The stakeholders consisted of manufacturers of accessibility, bathroom, and technology products. There were also three VGM members who represented the delivery side, along with service providers and some non-profits. Everyone at the event was impressed with the mission of Homes Renewed and an agreement was reached that committees would be formed to strategize how to get this start-up off the ground and running. Meetings are planned to work on a membership platform and how we can engage interested industry-related businesses like AHIA members. Stay tuned as there will be lots more to come.
There is a lot of buzz about home accessibility and aging in place. For example, click here. We want to work with you to help you take advantage of this growing market!
