Submit Comments to Senate Special Committee on Aging – Help Reduce Falls Among Vulnerable Citizens

Home Blog Submit Comments to Senate Special Committee on Aging – Help Reduce Falls Among Vulnerable Citizens

The VGM Live at Home membership community is well aware of the types of hazards lurking within homes across America – hazards that can easily cause trips, slips, and falls.

Among the elderly and those with disabilities, falls are a very serious concern. Such so that the U.S. Senate’s Special Committee on Aging invites stakeholders throughout the United States to provide recommendations that will advance the goal of reducing the risk of falls and fall-related injuries.

This is a tremendous opportunity for those in the accessibility industry – particularly Live at Home members – to have their voices heard. Special Committee on Aging chair, Susan Collins (R-Maine), and ranking member, Robert Casey, Jr. (D-Penn.), recently sent a letter to community leaders around the country seeking written comments about the seriousness of falls among our most vulnerable citizens. Click here to read the letter.

Live at Home has already submitted its comments to the committee. Click here to read LAH’s comments.

We strongly urge all LAH members to follow suit. Feel free to use a similar tone and flavor as the LAH comments. The deadline to submit comments is June 26, 2019. Please act today by joining us in this most crucial effort.
