Exciting Legislative Update for Home Access Industry!

On May 6, 2022, U.S. Representatives Charlie Crist (D-FL) and Thomas Suozzi (D-NY) introduced the Home Modification for Accessibility Act into Congress. This legislation provides tax incentives for home modifications so seniors and those with disabilities can more easily and safely continue living in their own homes. Update January 2022

While 2021 was spent working on legislation to benefit the aging in place industry and having many conversations with congressional offices, we still need your help! Watch this video below to learn more:

The joint tax committee has reviewed the concept, and it will next go to CBO for scoring of the bill, which we believe will have a low score and will be helpful in getting support in the congress.

We also had a good conversation with former Senator Tom Harkin, who indicated he would be helpful with this legislation going forward.
